The lyre is one of the oldest stringed instruments and is also associated with the personification of music among the Seven Liberal Arts, as well as with the muses of lyric poetry and love poetry. In religious contexts, as an attribute of David, it symbolizes faithfulness to God. Placed in the first room of the exhibition, it serves as a reference to the time-honoured tradition of spinning and telling stories, whether true or fictional.
